OK I'm calming down a bit now, and in a way, it's a good thing I hadn't realised that row was going on....or I would have been banned by now.

Answer me this please? Why if someone is so against Halloween would they subject themselves to a board where it is going to be mentioned?

My answer: so they can have something to moan about (totally without reason) and play the poorme card and take the opportunity to insult all and sundry whilst at it!

Tonight's effort went beyond what is normal behaviour and truly if she does have any friends left they should be having stern words right about now.

More to the point Sue. Why, if she is so against Halloween, did she not put up a thread about a completely different subject, or even carry on the Richard III discussion of last night?

Why did she do a 'Halloween free thread?' Because she KNEW what reaction she would get, and she wanted that reaction so that she could be abusive, because that is what she WANTED to do. She CHOSE to do it.

Well I guess for me enough is enough. I hope she is reading this thread and accepts that she has behaved despicably to an awful lot of really nice people.

I think she works on some kind of " self fulfilling prophecy "....she often says " you all hate me anyway ".......certainly a lot of us avoid her like the plague and for those that haven't avoided it's possibly turned to hatred ( understandably ).

I don't think she is particularly for or against anything , she deliberately chooses a controversial stance...........gets her to the top of the board nine times out of ten.........which I assume is what gives her a buzz.........?

All guess work but just my perception of the situation .

Evening Girls :O)...........not read Mel's thread but take it she doesn't agree with children dressing up to scare us all!! lol........We've had a few little ones at our front door early, on tonight, with really good costumes,(and with their Mam's standing a little way behind them)....I'd bought a box of goodies and not only the children took a treat but Mam's were offered some too!

All good fun and not harming anyone, after all they weren't there for cash but to frighten us........woooo

JoyBoroAngel

JoyBoroAngel Report 31 Oct 2009 22:02

them a bit of fun with parental supervision

That's it Joy,not as if they were roaming streets on their own is it?.....we didn't recognise the children but knew their mothers ... we had fun, as bairns, just carrying lighted turnips lol

Would this be the lady who said on a thread last night, that she didn't mind about religious statues being smashed because they don't have them in her church; or, that a statue of Jesus was 'creepy'.

If it's not that person then many apologies. If it is then...?

I am glad that I did not see any of it. Having been away (family funeral), with emotions still high, I might not have been able to sit on hands.

I will be fair to Mel over her statue comment. The one she was talking about, in Ely Cathedral, is not to everybody's taste, neither is the statue of the Mother and Child in the Lady Chapel of the Cathedral. It's 'modern' sculpture. I know it well.

However, I have no other reason to defend her, and her actions tonight are indefensible, utterly dispicable.

I've just had a look at both statues online Teresa, they are modern , and I am not entirely sure about the colour of Mary's hair from a 'probable' point of view...but both are 'accessible' . lol thats a fancy way of saying they look like people you might know...which is surely what it's all about :))

and will be fair..a few do not hold with handing out sweets or other goodies at halloween, not for any religious carp but purely they just dont hold with it. same as some wont give to carol singers they just see it as gaining money for their own means.....I have friend and they do not hold with singers at the door,,

,thats their religion dictates that , !!!!but would if they wasnt ?yep makes sense dont it..they are too scared of reprisials in the afterlife:}}

us folk whos not commited ,have fun and allow diddy tots the same excitement of halloween.
