lol Maggie,

cars that are parked on the pavement make me grumpy too...but they did when I was 20 so that's not an age thing :)

Well, if they're in their 50's on Age Concern, Help the Aged, or any other chatlines that have the word 'Age' - or 'Saga' in them - they're bound to be grumpy!!!
Age is a number - some 40year olds are grumpier than me.

Do you realise the first 3 letters of 'Saga' are SAG - how depressing and unsubtle is that!!

Mind you - cars that park on the pavement make me extremely anti-social!

I think you can do it at any age really ..... here's one ' morning coffee biscuits don't taste the same as in my young days' ( well they don't! lol)

Daff , you may be right , I am on the wrong threads :)) and yes, I've noticed that you have stopped 'biting your tongue' so much lately ;) rofl

Tuts at Rose.... you are on the wrong threads, lolol....... I don't dare venture out of my cosy little corner.... and the most cheerful thread on there is about being positive when you have cancer, lolol ;¬))

I have to say, though, that the last year or so, I have made a conscious decision not to shut up and suffer fools..... I have spent most of my life biting my tongue, and skirting around nastiness, making excuses for the consistant bad behaviour and poor manners of others..... Not so much anymore......

It is quite liberating, I find, lolol

So I suppose I am turning into a grumpy old woman... and me only 25, lolol!! ;¬))

Love

Dear all

Hello

Do you have to be 50 to be grumpy?

Can you start at an earlier age?!

My favourite saying at the moment is........"It wasn't like this in my day!"

Best wishes

It could be a classic case of " competitive moaning " if there are a number of over 50s trying to out moan each other..............lol

Angie lol, I am as old as that on the outside, but only 30 on the inside ;)

I'm hoping that I'll get less grumpy when I'm 50. I wonder what the chances of that are.

That sounds lovely Amanda :)

you're probably right , they were probably moaners before 50, it's perhaps that as they're gathered in the same place I notice it more lol

Yep – often!

Females are menopausal
Males are having a mid life crisis (and having to put up with menopausal OH’s)
Children are in the throws of Teenage Angst, which the 50 + parents have to cope with
The 50+ children’s parents are now 70+, so now have to have more of an eye kept on them.
You’ve missed the boat on the career ladder.
Your body starts to fall apart

And the policeman are definitely getting younger!!!

I can't really answer this Rose , as I haven't reached the required age just yet.............I haven't many years left on this side of 50 but I'm hoping when I get there I'm not going to turn into a misery guts.........lol

Perhaps the " moaners " of 50+ where that way inclined before they reached 50 ?

I'm happy because I've been in my craft room most of the day , fiddling with felt and dabbing with me humbrols : )) ..........letting out the inner child...........lol

Perhaps I'd better not answer then. I'm very grumpy and I'm not 50 yet.

old miseryguts?!

Just looking on an over 50s site and goodness are they moaning lol.... for eg

Men are the pits, they don't make any effort if they are single and searching, or they leave their wives for "sluts" if they don't get their 'conjugal rights' anymore
Children are brats
The country is going to the dogs
The dogs leave too big a carbon footprint.........

and that's just the start of it!
Cheer me up someone and make me feel young again lol
