Think it is a typical Victorian brooch but don't know the significance.

My mother always used to say horseshoes should be mounted with the open end upwards ............ if mounted downwards, all the luck will run out.

Hello

We all know that horseshoes bring luck but, what does wearing a brooch with three upside down horseshoes mean please.

Any ideas?

Thank you Shirley
