The refs you have are the GRO records and certs can be ordered online from them at £7 each with the GRO refs you have. The ordering is very quick and easy to do.

Mark the only real info a local registrars office needs is a name and a date

the closer the date the better
you will need to get some certs from the GRO in the first instance, online
....http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/Login.asp

if you have a name and a date and a place, ( you get that from the ref number IE
" Mar qtr 1899 St george in the east. vol and page no." )
you can find out the local office that has these records from the free BMD genuki references.

They are the general register office references, you need to send away for th certs, easiest way is to send off to the GRO.
No local office will tell you the details without buying them anyway inless you are VVVVV lucky

Hi guys

I spent months looking through the birth and death registers on her and worte down each on ie:

Name Vol 10a pg 567

Took the list to the local registery office and they said it means nothing to them and I would need to find the names, addresses and parents names of each person to be able for them to find them. Obviously this is impossible for some as I need to find the birth certificate to check their parents details etc.

Can anyone help

Is there anywere I can look to put the infor from here ie which year and quater they were born the volume and the page number, to be able to supply the local registery office with the infor they need for the certificates.

I feel like givin up at the min, I seem to have waisted months of work finding this info to be short down by the register
