Margaret, it is a real nuisance, isn't it? And I can't settle until I have found it... I know I shall be awake half the night worrying. It's not in the fridge, freezer, oven or microwave... I've looked there.... twice, lolol

I could always send over the renewal form I received for my husbands driving licence since he wont be driving any more, in fact hasnt done so since he was diagnosed with alzheimers just over 3 yrs ago. It is due for renewal before 4 Jan, so you might get it in time.

Huia.

Have you got a file with the car insurance documents in? Might be in there, or the sock drawer!

You will find your certs, - in the least likely place.
And if yur hubby/partner is like mine absolutely gloated when he found mine.- if he loses anything it's my fault - not his LOL

I lost my passport a few years ago, but hadn't realised that I had. It's always kept in the same place and I presumed it still was there.
In the meantime, not knowing this, we booked a long weekend in Brugges. ...Frenzied searching, even up-ended the settee hoping to shake down any fallen-down-behind- the-cushion items into a retrievable position, but no luck so I stayed here and waved the others off !
I could find the old one with corner cut off. I even found the envelope in which they'd sent the new one, ...but no joy.
Eventually after many months I applied for a new one and it duly arrived.

About 2 weeks later, the old one turned up within a pile of daughter's college books.

Now if only I knew where my birth and marriage certificates could be.....?

It will be there, somewhere you have already looked but because you are panicking you have failed to 'see' it. Has the sherry helped? Have you picked up a newspaper or magazine since you last saw it? If so check it in case you picked it up with that. Have you put any papers in the recycling lately? Check there. And do let us know if you have found it or we will all be awake all night worrying about it.

When I loose something I keep looking at my hand thinking "well, you were here a minute ago" have even been know to turn my hand over, as if to look at the back of it, but in reality trying to jog my memory of where I put it (the missing/hiding item) down.

Have you looked in the airing cupboard, or under the pile of ironing?

I'm sure that it will turn up sometime, and as Ann in Glos says, probably somewhere you have already looked.
I sometimes think that many (if not all) missing items have the chameleon like ability to change themselves to blend in with their background. That's why we can't see them, even when looking straight at them.

Good luck,
Tess

Evening all.... no it hasn't turned up yet... last time I saw it I was on the phone, wandering around the house.... so it could be anywhere, lol

I am off to bed now... it'll probably creep into my dreams about 3am, lolol

Ann... the sherry didn't work... didn't even taste very nice... gutted, I am, lolol

See you all tomorrow..... and I will look in all the places you have suggested, lol... Theresa, not with the ironing though... don't do ironing if I can help it, lol

Gwyn, I'll look for your stuff while I am about it, ;¬))

Elizabeth and Julie Ann... fortunately, he doesn't gloat... but he does have this eyebrow... and I can tell what it is saying to me... really, I can!!

Huia.... send it over, please, lolol.... I'll wrap me ample bosom in cling film and no-one will know I'm a female, lolol

Jean.... mmm.... yes I have, but it wasn't out today... I must think about what other stuff I have messed around with today.......

Cat... had the bin out.... and the place we store all the papers for re-cycling..... and if it was in the washing machine it is now very dead..... son has just finished a load, lolol

Right.... I really am off to bed... I shall let you all know when I have found it... the pesky thing is probably grinning gleefully at me, in full view, lol
