one of my friends got a decent chunk of the wall
and had it framed in a deep picture frame

it looks really good

I used to work with someone, in London in 1988, who escaped from the East, he was a lovely man.

Also my sister's in the forces she brought me back some of the wall.

i was having a meal with a friend
when i heard they had started to remove the wall

I was sitting at my desk in the NAAFI when it came over the BFPS radio about the wall, we never heard a thing till then, although i must add West Germany got so much dirtier wither that was a coincidence or not but many Germans even passed the remark.

Hubby and i went to the East a few time when the wall was up, the first time i expected to see so many depressed people from what i had heard about, but no they were all smiling and seemed quite happy, even the young Russian soldiers were happy for a bit of a banter.

We were taliking to some and they had never seen an orange, my heart went out to them as how many of us have thrown oranges away from our fruil bowls.

Glad the walls down should be no barriers between people.

Yes, a very good thing that the Berlin Wall fell and without bloodshed.

It was a very great day seeing people reunited and sitting on the wall.

But also, poignant because so many died trying to escape from East Germany.

Def a good thing for those living both sides East and West families who had been denied each other for years,

I have a small piece of that wall and know what it stands for...

Shame, then, that that great "libertarian" Bono saw fit to erect it again.
