Do you remember the perfumed birthday cards that had a powdery flowery smell-when you opened them? Inside was a 3D bouquet of flowers that was cut out of the card…..???

I was talking about them last week to someone I know and today they bought one round for me to look at, it was dated 1964.….and the smell was still there.

Oh what lovely memories this smell bought back to me… :o)

I don't remember those, but I do remember buying scented notepaper and envelopes. They were in pastel colours and I thought them quite lovely when I was about 14.

Can you imagine a 14 year old girl getting excited about scented notepaper nowadays? :-)

I'd totally forgotten them, until you reminded me, Rosi

First time I ever saw one, I bought it for my mum. She loved freesias and I'm not sure that this card smelt of much but Johnson's Baby Lotion, but it brought a tear to her eye (maybe it was the chemicals!)

I know this, Rosi!

I still have my daughter's first offering of a play on words - she loved welsh rarebit.

Mum - you are the gratest (with pencil drawing of "me" grating cheese)
