Amanda2003 Report 9 Nov 2009 13:44

Only if you had been given access by 9 million members to view their trees .

Just seen a pink elephant fly past the window

Is that how they are advertising the site now

Stevie

Stevie Report 9 Nov 2009 13:45

I doubt it RB. Permission has to be given by the tree owner for it to be viewed.

You could Search 9 million trees I suppose .

Stevie

Stevie Report 9 Nov 2009 13:48

You can search those for free Amanda.

When you find a match, you then need to ask the tree holder for access.

if you go to "search record " tab, put a search in, it ask you to buy credits, if you go for Gold £35 for 6 months it say you have access to all 9 million trees.

That's a misleading statement IMO.

A touch of desperation in the world of advertsiing spiel.

If you just click on Search. You get 127 matches for First Name, Last Name. lol :o))

I think the Gold membership advertisement for unlimited access to Genes Reunited. Is about access to the records.
The location of the advent though, could give the impression this includes access to trees.

I wonder by how much 9 million would be reduced if names such as Donald duck were removed :-)

well the next time i get a ban i am going to ask them to remove all the swear words from the nine million names on the trees.

that will knock it down to 8 million.

There are 106 matches for Mickey Mouse and 45 for Donald Duck!

I must want something better to do.

Actually, I have - DINNER!
