Birds in a nest , I put the mashed potato on it more or less straight away. It actually doesn't really matter.

Tonight we are going to be having sausage casserole as, I have plenty of time to let it simmer I shall just thinly slice the spud and lay them on top to cook, Other times I would par boil them.

I cook so much in my slow cooker even joints of meats, mind I think it will be awhile before I do bread pudding again lol

Mary I hope you enjoyed your pork in cider sounds yummy , one of my favourites with pork is putting apple honey ( or some other flavoured honey) on it and letting it cook.

I've not reached the dizzy heights of shepherd's pie in mine.

A stupid question - do you put the potatoes on it straight away or add them later?

I've only managed stewed steak and vegetable curry so far!

You'll love it.

I've just rediscovered mine.

It's got a lovely veggie curry in it at the moment. Some for today and the rest for the freezer for next week!
