Help needed please OH just got a parking ticket on carpark of big retail stores. It used to be free for first half hour but now apparenrly not. But the attendent has put the colour of the car down as Green when it's silver, do we have a chance it's invalidated.

I think it goes on the Reg, not too sure.

IUnfortunately t's going to be a very expensive 10 minutes. Just because the colour stated on the ticket isn't correct it won't invalidate it.

I received a letter in the post due to non payment of ticket. I hadn't received the ticket which had been issued in London whilst I was at work some 120 miles away with my car. They had got my reg number but the make model and colour of the car was totally different to mine. The warden must have got the letters or numbers in the wrong order. Needless to say I didn't have to pay.

Chrissie, it could be that your number plate was cloned, it happened to a friend of mine twice. In the end she got a new number for her car.

Hi Ann,

When number plates are cloned it is usually done for the same type of vehicle so as not to arouse suspicion when the vehicle goes through ANPR (police database) and also to get out of parkking and speeding fines. A vehicle I checked had cloned plates and because the idiots had put them on a five door model instead of a three door I suspected straightaway they were cloned. Contacting the keeper confirmed it.

Think i'd dissagree, if the details are not totally correct then it must be invalid, i'd fight it all the way.

Been on a site by Martin Lewis the tele. money expert, it seems that private parking companies on non council land have no clout because you don't have a contract with them they are just rent collecting for retail park shops and it is a civil matter not a criminal matter.

Getting free half hour at solicitors on Monday and will see what they say. OH will have to do pokey if so cos can't afford to pay £100 ,Mum's funeral costs have to come first.

If a white person commits a crime and a non white is accused is he guilty, doesn't correct info count for anything.

I have in the past put money in the pay and display machines,
I often carry a bag of 5p pieces especially for the purpose, if the machine accepts them, then ok, I get the ticket from the machine..
however there are machines that although they say that any coin is accepted , sometimes the machine locks out before the full amount is paid, I try this twice, and recover my money and put on the windscreen a note saying that the machine wouldn't accept my payment.

there is NOTHING said about how many 5p coins are allowed. my argument would be, is that the machine is faulty.

I also see that our local Iceland has installed Pay and display, but the store will refund if you spend more than a Fiver in the shop.

I think now they take a photo's of the car, as its a civil matter ,I really don't think you can have it invalidated......sorry me thinks !!

But good luck if not .
