Did anyone watch it this morning. I thought it was an extremely poignant and moving service, with fitting tributes to the last three veterans, and to the unknown Warriar brought back from France and buried in a state funeral in Westminster, as a symbol of a nation's grief.

We should never forget them, nor those who have fought and died in subsequent wars and conflicts.

Yes it was, and part of the service was the laying of a wreath on his tomb, not as a tribute to one soldier, but as a tribute to ALL who fought in that war.

Hello Teresa..........I didn't watch the programme as I was out in Norwich.
It was awesome to see all the folk who where out about their business all stop and stand in silence.........I felt really moved and proud , even the street musicians stopped playing and stood in respectful silence .

I'm glad I managed to witness the spectacle.

Ah, so on the market place then LOL

You should have said, I'd have been up for a coffee. My OH has been right grumpy today, could have done with an escape.

I've been in the city before on remembrance day, and it is very moving.

I believe the tomb is marked as 'The Unknown Warrior' Joan.

As the soldier was brought back to symbolise the nations grief and to represent ALL those who lost their lives, perhaps 'warrior' is more correct. Soldier is more specific, but more than soldiers lost thier lives in that terrible war. My Gt Grandfather, a sailor, lost his life in the Battle of Jutland.

Blast it Teresa..........I'd thought of you as we approached Norwich but is was a spur of the moment thing so I'd no chance to mention it.

And yes , your quite right it was just down from the market place......lol

OH doesn't think we need to return to the city this side of christmas as I managed to get all the things I was after today.
