Update from Lynn 13/11/2009

Guinevere Report 13 Nov 2009 16:10

Hello everyone,

It's been quite a while since I last updated you, no excuse really other than laziness, and far too many good books to be read, so I apologise.

I'm doing really well, it's been a year since all my treatment started, believe it or not. We were just saying the other night, how we said 12 months ago we would be laughing about some of the things that happened, in 12 months time, and we certainly are.

It's been a really long haul at times, but we got through it, I still have odd days where im not 100% and I still get a lot of pain in my legs but on the whole, I'm pretty good.

I'm still seen regularly by both my surgeon and oncologist, ( 3 monthly ) and both are really pleased with how I'm doing.

We shall be doing some fund raising next year for Vulva Cancer, and I shall be looking into doing some talks on awareness, the more women that know of this rare cancer the better.

Thank you to all of you for showing your support and sending lots of lovely messages, and always taking the time to ask about me, it really is appreciated.

Oh and I'd like to share some wonderful news with you all. Mark and I will be getting married next year, around Eastertime. :o)))

Well, I can't let such a good one escape can I? And after all we have been through, the love just grows day by day.

Thanks to Linda for continuing my " thoughts for the day " thread, I do read it most days

Remember, ladies, don't only examine your breasts monthly, your vulva needs checking too.

Lots of love and best wishes to you all

Lynn xxxx

I saw Lynn a few weeks ago and she was looking great. She’s gradually putting on weight and speeds up a bit more every time I see her. We’re “lunching” again in early December.

As Lynn said it’s been a year since the treatment began and I have to say she has been amazing. I so admire her courage in dealing with all she’s had to deal with. She rarely lost her sense of humour, even in her darkest times. We were falling about laughing in the hospital just days after her op. Mark, as Lynn said, has been marvellous all through the treatment. He is one in a million and I’m so glad he and Lynn found each other.

I’ve been bursting to tell all about the wedding but was sworn to silence. I know they will be very happy. They certainly deserve to be.

Despite only living a few miles apart, Lynn and I met via GR, which goes to show genuine friendships can be found on the internet. I know how much the support of her cyber friends meant to Lynn when she was having treatment, so thanks to everyone from me as well.
