Can anyone help please.

I have lost my tree due to buying a new laptop. My old email & password were remembered by windows. I have asked GR but seem to get no response, it took me nearly 2 yrs,

Can i track it down any other way?

I cannot rember the old email address as i set it up for GR and asked comp to remember it

Can you not find your old membership number and ask GR to send a gedcom to you. ?

Do you still have your old PC/Laptop

When i got a new PC my Cousin loaded all my bits off my old PC onto her external hard drive then loaded it all onto my new PC

2 ways of hunting down your old memebership number
1 look for an old thread that you was on search it with your user name then

2 get somebody to search trees with a member of your family on it, when they click to send a message to you it will show your number.


To try to recover information from an old hard drive it would be better to take it into a pc shop and ask them to do it. OH laptop they recovered everthing after a virus wiped his pc out , sadly when my hard-drive died there was nothing they could recover. But always worth a try

I think you need to email them. I don't know but they may ask you some security questions before they send you the old tree ie things about your account or your tree.
