Dear All

Hello

Hope you are okay and doing well, considering the weather.

Do you object to being asked your religion, if you have one,
for example on official documents for jobs, council forms, etc?

Ever had people push their views onto you?

Have you found comfort at a place of worship in time of need?

I am not asking for peoples views on actual religious beliefs or anything like this.

Hope this is okay.

Take care.

Very best wishes
xx

I don't object to being asked what my religion is - but then again I never answer. Likewise when it comes to 'ethnicity' - I put 'Other'. Mainly because quite often the boxes for the United Kingdom, ask if you are Scottish, Welsh Irish or British!
I presume 'British' means 'English', even though we all know the others are British too, but they daren't mention the word 'English' for fear of being thought nationalistic!!
Personally, I can't see what a person's religion or ethnicity has to do with their job, or what it has to do with the council. If I've lived here X number of years and have Y number of 'points' I should be in the queue with everyone else.
People have tried to push their views on me, and depending on who they are, I change my alleged religion - eg to Jehovah's witnesses, I say I'm Jewish - and they usually walk away. Christians - I say I'm Moslem or a happy Heathen
Never found any place of 'worship' comforting - give me the great open air every time!! LOl

Don't object at all. I'm a practising Christian and happy to say so.

I DO object to people pushing their religious views onto other folk as this tends to turn people right off rather than making them want to listen. This then tends to miss the whole point of the exercise. Does that make sense??

It's often been said that Christianity is caught not taught - so it's much more effective to walk alongside someone rather than stuff opinions down their poor throats.

As for comfort in places of worship? I think my answer is definitely a 'yes' to that one.

Right, must get the oven on for tea.

It doesn't bother me being asked I usually answer, The funny thing is that it is meaningless really as people can put what they like. I am Christian, Baptist but I could put Buddhist nobody would know any different.

Hello Elizabeth,
I am not religious, but love visiting churches. There is something about just being the only person in there.I find it it very comforting.
I do object to people knocking on the door to talk about their beliefs, but am never rude to them.I did get slightly cross one year when on Christmas Day we had callers.I thought that was a real cheek .
I have no problem with whatever beliefs people have as long as they don't try to push it on me.
