How would I go about finding out when people were buried in Little Cornard Churchyard,Suffolk. Someone visited and said there was no stone. I am looking for George Arthur Baldwin born 1870 in Lamarsh,Essex and his wife Louisa nee Gaskin 1872, Leytonstone,Essex. Ihave checked up to 1935 on BMD,no sign there. Could anyone advise me.

They couldn't always afford a headstone. Some headstones over the years have been removed from some churchyards.

You could write to the church - they should have records of burials. I visited my local churchyard on someone else's behalf and the verger looked up a plan kept in the vestry - showed all the graves.

You really need to find the date and place of death before you can find the date of burial. If you know the date and place you can often find out where and when they were buried from the local Record Office

Were they alive in the 1911 census?

If you don't know when they died how do you know where they were buried?

Thanks for replies, a relative told me where they were buried but didn`t know when. They were alive in the 1911 census and their deaths aren`t mentioned in FreeBMD site up to 1935. I guess I will have to trawl through the death indexes on Ancestry. Thanks again,
