Well done Hayley !!! I've been buying bits for months though I haven't tackled cards and wrapping paper yet

We've got the girls main pressies and about 12 stocking fillers each....so if the axe swings next week they're pretty much done and dusted.

Good for you Hayley, what a good girl you are.LOL

As some of you know,or may not, I spend frequent times in hospital. No cure as yet, but no cause found either. So as I came out from the latest of my many visits, on Friday, and felt good today, I thought I too would make a start while I can. In anticipation, if you like.
Got my cards and wrapping paper this morning, and wrapped up pressies this afternoon. I also made a start on some of the Christmas food, and already the freezer is heaving. Christmas dinner out was booked in August, but I like to have plenty in, and can't bear going to the shops between Christmas and the New Year. My last shopping day this year will be the Wednesday before Christmas Day, for 'fresh' stuff.
The drinks department is down to OH, and if he looks after that as he did bringing in clean undies etc, well, it hardly bears thinking about.
Stock cupboard is also getting full, to make things during the festive period, because once we have had the BIG dinner on Christmas Day, we do not bother about another big dinner for a few days. So long as I have plenty of cook in sauces and pkts of rice, it suits us.
I can say all this, but I do not have anyone else to cater for except OH and myself, so we can please ourselves.
I can also say this truthfully and honestly. But GAWD, how I miss it all. All those children and grandchildren, and three sittings for dinner. All the jellies and trifles, Black Forest Gateaus (sp)Profitteroles (before they were invented), all home made. The cured meats, done by moi, and pickles and preserves. All that stuffing baking and boiling, done for months in advance.
The Christmas Cake, Mince Meat, and then the pies, and the Pudding.
OH even had his own Brussel patch, for the tons we got through.
The decorations, all home made, and the crackers, hand tied.
Agggh I could go on, but I am worn out at the thought of all the work I got through, despite the loving of it all.
Even the grandchildren have homes and families of their own.
Off now to have a lowely lamb chop and a few veggies, and to dream of yesteryear.
Good Luck to all of you going through it All, but at the end, you wouldn't have it any other way.
Good Night

I haven't got far with Christmas preperations but I have made the cake and I've bought a few cards .
I've also started hoarding bags of chocolate coins ( and I've only eaten one bag full as of yet........lol ).

I suppose I ought to bend my mind to presents before much longer .
