Hi guys

Just signed up for ancestory and find it much better for searching etc. However find the veiwing of the tree not as good as genes? All I can see is who is directly realted and not say see there siblings without clicking on that part of the tree where by genes you can see all off them.

Does anyone else use both sites and what for?

Also is there a way on anncestory in looking at the tree in the same layout as genes?

Hi Mark

Most of us with subs to both sites use Ancestry for searching for records/census etc. In my case, I only use GR hoping for contacts with mutual rellies, which of course does mean dupilcation my tree ( or the main part of it) here.

If you go to a persons profile page on Ancestry, there is a little line under the parents names 'show siblings' which then reveals their names.

Hope that helps.

Hi and thanks

I noticed the thing under the parents name but I like the genes look where you can zoom out and see all the tree ie your rellies brothers and sisters easy lol

Don't forget that you can down load gedcoms from both onto your home computer and open them on a family tree programme, such as the free PAF from the family search, or any number of ones you can purchase.

It's really what suits you best, there is no right or wrong :- )
