When they let murderer out for shopping and they escape then no not a good idea.

Why should they have any privileges.

What idiot thought up that idea? I thought prison was supposed to be a punishment guess I was mistaken. If this idea is to "ease" overcrowding then build more prisons.

I don't know anything about it but I would have thought it depended on a lot of things - the crime and behaviour of the prisoners involved and the risk they pose to the public. It also depends on how you see prison - is it punishment or rehabilitation or a mixture of both?

Its nothing new..its been going on for alot of years now.....***home visits*** day release for educational purposes*depending on the severity of why they are in prison for ,,some will be allowed **weekend home visits *** near the end of their sentance.
But they do have to return>!!

Shopping trips are usually accompanied by a working prison staff,,even those in Rampton go on shopping trips.!!!

The problem is when they escape from the staff:}}}
