OH has just fetched me a black, and also a colour cartridge for my HP printer, from T...co, where i have always bought them, as they are compatable with my printer.
Black is now £15.97 and colour £19.77. Whew, this is getting too expensive, and out of hand. Only saving grace is the extra club card points.

Hi Julia,
yes i agree with you i have just
bought 4 printer inks
at £47 .96 . (not as dear as yours )
Then i went into a stationary shop
and they were selling inks which was
compatible with my printer so i bought one for £3.99
put it in my printer and done just a little bit of printing
and it's empty so it's back to the little duck ones ..lol

I HAVE 3 FOR AN EPSOM GOING FOR FREE BUT NO ONE WANTS THEM

We buy ours on line because it is cheaper but it is sometimes cheaper to buy a new printer than the cartridges which is stupid. (i.e. that is if you just want a printer with nothing fussy on it.)

Dizzi, tell me the number of those inks again please, I think I checked both my printers but I will re-check, can't believe nobody wants them.

I have a Canon Pixma and buy my inks on line quite cheaply. Quite often get a little free gift with them as well! Last one was a small photo viewer which shows about jpeg size photos.

I looked in PC World earlier, a Lexmark No. 33 cartridge was about £27 !

The printer was only about £55.

I use an HP Laserjet for black and white which is far cheaper than inkjet. My current printer was for nothing off Freecycle, but even the cartridges for that have doubled in price over the last couple of years.

If anyone in the Essex area wants an HP Laserjet 6L with a dodgy paper feed (but works fine by manually feeding) complete with a new toner, I am thinking of letting that one go to a new home.

Thanks all for your imput and ideas. As I am off soon to do the evening meal, I thought i just ought to say:-
Memo to Self,
The next time you buy a printer, if there is a next time, do not buy an HP, or any other make that takes expensive ink cartridges. Learn a lesson from your mistake. LOL

Thanks again everyone, most grateful

With the exception of our large wide format printers we use Epson in our offices, we have 3 All in one's, for general use we have been using this brand for over 10 years, they are all fitted with external add on ink tanks/bottles, it's far cheaper, we used to buy compatible carts off ebay and these were generally fine for everyday printing, you can get them for just over a pound per cart, check out the ink bottle/tank option for your printer. You not only save a fortune, you never have to change the cart.
