Twice today, been overcharged.
Went to T****s and they had some porridge - plain on bogof,on one of the shelf tickets, The variety packs were buy one get one half price, At the till they charged me the later, when I said it should be a bogof, they said no, all of the porridge should be as said, I had to take a supervisor to the shelf to point out, I got my refund, some one had forgotten to change the shelf ticket.

At I****nd, I bought 3 £1 items and got charged £4 - there was one item scanned twice, had to point out that 3 £1 items came to £3. And she had to double check the bag.

Just what I didn't need after a night shift.

Poor you, Liz.
I had a different experience at T**co's on Saturday.
Purina had sent me a £5 off voucher, as I'd complained that one of the Felix pouches I was about to feed my cats was on the point of explosion, so I bought 2 boxes (£3.something each)
Forgot to use the voucher at the checkout so I thought I'd try Customer Services.
Took out my receipt and was looking at it, when I realised I'd only been charged for 1 box!
I'll use the voucher later! LOL

Isn't it strange that we complain when overcharged and not when undercharged??

That's because we know we're usually being overcharged at 'normal' prices anyway! When Sale goods are half price and they're still making a profit, I feel well ripped off if I paid 'full' price the week before!
if it had been our (now sadly closed due to retirement) local shop - I would have owned up!

edit - see Julia's 'High cost of printing' thread - I once bought a new printer, as it was cheaper than buying the ink - which the companies admit is overpriced!

I agree Maggie and I wasn't accusing as I do it myself in large supermarkets/stores.

LOL Ann.
When my eldest was about 8, she bought 10p's worth of penny sweets from the local shop. Quite often the owners counted the sweets - as some children were inclined to add a few more - but never counted my childrens' sweets.
Daughter got home to find she had 11p's worth of sweets! She was nothing short of distraught!
I told her that next time, she could put 9p's worth of sweets in and pay 10p.
She wouldn't have it, and was in tears in case they thought she was a thief.
In the end, I to had to go back down and put 9 sweets in a bag and pay 10p!!
It wasn't a ploy to get extra sweets - she didn't get them until the next week.

Liz, I can understand your annoyance, I usually check my bills in the stores but don't always get a chance if I am in a rush to get home with the shopping. I will always go back and complain if I am overcharged, the other day for instance I bought some reduced items at our Budgen's supermarket which actually is not so super now it's changed from Somerfields lol
I checked my bill when I got in and couldn't find a reduced item of £1 but one pack of rolls which were 25p had been £1 before the reduction. i couldn't go back then but took the receipt and the empty bag yesterday and got the £1 back, I had been charged the 25p as well so was only fair I got a refund. The assistants there all know me and o.h. as we use the shop often, it being only 5 mins walk round the corner.
I do like it when I get a little extra 'gift' tho as when you got your catfood Maggie.

Btw thanks Liz, you reminded me I need more porridge oats and usually get the basic bag at Tescos to add to my fancy muesli to make it go further and more healthy. Wonder if that is on offer as well or just the branded stuff, must do my sums and see which works out cheaper lol

Maggie, why did you not take your daughter and let her explain about the sweets, the shopkeeper would have been very impressed with her honesty and it would have been nice for her to have been praised for it by them, as I am sure they would have done.
