I am getting hypnotised next Wednesday
at the hospital
HOPEFULY AN END TO MY SMOKING HABIT

Have any of you been hypnotised and did it work

ooops i read that last bit as

'have any of you been hypnotised at work' - i was gonna say 'constantly' pmsl

It worked for 18 months then had a row with OH
and started smoking again :((
you will still need a lot of will power
I used the patches and have not smoked for 18 years

i have tried the patches twice

the first time i nearly stopped for a year
well i did have the odd drag when i was out
the second time all that happened was
i had nightmares

well i hope i dont light one after it

i might need you lot to stop me lol

If you really want to give up smoking you will do it

i dont have any choice really i have to give up

it was the 24 hour patches hobity

i always dream sometimes more than one dream a night

but the nightmares were horrific

i hope it works when i stopped before

i went to turkey and seen the fags 200 for £7
and thought i would have a bit of that

and stop again when i got home
and it just never happend

Some years ago, son had a very,very bad accident. As a result I would not sit in the front seat in OH's car. Had Hypnothery to sort me out. Sorry to say, some twenty years later I still sit in the back. So it did not work for me.
As regards the patches. They too gave me evil, violent nightmares, something I do not normally have. So, I'm still smoking. Even when I go into hospital, when I get mobile instead of bedridden, I always manage to find a hidy-hole outside to have a crafty one. Please, no-one castigate me for this LOL

Yes...it worked for 3 months....then Oh gave went too....he became such a grouch that I threw a cigarette at him and lit one up myself.....then smoked more than I ever did.

6 months ago I got the Paul Mackenna cd to try again......it has worked for all the 6 months now......I still believe you have really got to 'want' to give up and believe you can do it.....My Oh lacks the will power because he uses excuses to continue.

My bothers MIL a smoker had that hypo done for slimming,,,,,,she came out and couldnt face a fag and never smoked again, !!,,,,said they tasted like bleach,::}}}}}}}}}}}but never slimmed,:}

I wish you all the luck in the world, sweetheart and we will all support you on here. I have had hypnotherapy (it worked for a month), acupuncture, read Alan Carrs book a hundred times, patches, gum..you name it I tried it. I smoked for over 40 years but eventually I stopped by going to a support group at the local hospital. We all sat and whinged once a week, had nutritionists, psychologists, etc etc... and after puffing away for a month, we all stopped by using whatever we chose. Patches worked for me, but take them off at night!

It was the toughest thing I have ever tackled but I am so glad I am free now.
