Mum and Dad looked after the girls for us after school while we went to parents evening......Mum kindly cooked a Shepherds Pie for the girls dinner and when we went to collect them about 6.....she presented us with two individual portions ready to be warmed in the oven for our dinners to save us cooking.

I forgot how much nicer my Mums dinners are than mine !!! Now I want some Banana angel delight to finish it off.....then of course a lie down on the sofa with my blankie lololol x

Mums dinners are always nicer, I don't know why.

My son loves my roast dinners, and always tells me mine are best in front of my DIL. I always feel bad when he does that though, bless her.

Mum's cooking is always the best. My Mum used to make the most delicious stew and in 29 years of doing my own cooking I have never been able to replicate it. Everytime we used to come home on leave Mum would make one and I would watch like a hawk at everything she did and take notes, but it still never turned out the same. I wish she was here now to make one. She also did a mean maderia cake as well and can't make that either.

Oh God no... my mother is a dreadful cook!!!

My nan now.... she was brilliant... she died when I was 12, but I was already cooking roast dinners for 10 by then, lol.... my dad is a pretty good cook these days.... but not when I was a child.

Muffy, a bit of spoiling does no-one any harm, and you deserve it... I have sent up a cool box full of home made soups and and stews, spagh bol, etc out of the freezer for my son's ex. She is still my granddaughters mum, when all is said and done.

Love and loads of (((((((hugs))))))))

my mum didn't do a huge amount of cooking but she did a lovely liver, bacon and onions - I won't go near raw liver, so have to buy a ready meal - especially as no-one else eats it. Also strawberry flan - in one of those sponge flan cases - the jelly just soaked into mine :-(

the one thing I've mastered (cos I got her to show me!) is her minced beef and onion plate pie, which is the kids' fave (Debs quite liked it too lol as did Jeannie)

oh and I do a MUCH better roast than either my mum or my m-i-l :-))

Oh god Maz....my mum used to try and shovel liver and bacon down me as a kid but *yaks* can't bear it lol

It's a london tradition that dies here for me sadly LOL.

Daff.........You're the mother in law from the gods hon xx

Maz, I've got one of those flan cases in my cupboard, to do a peach one at the weekend, with strawberry Jello. I haven't had one for years and saw the cases in Asda the other day and thought I would make one for a treat. I must remember to get some Nestle tinned whipped cream to have with it.
