My tea has been tasting

Unpleasant, so decided to clean the aluminium teapots. The tannin stains the inside ans I am sure affects the tea. Decided to try Oxi fabric stain remover. Put a scoop of the stuff in teapot and added hot water from tap. It soon began to bubble and swirl about, so I left it for half-an-hour. When it had stopped bubbling I swilled it out, and the pot looked as clean as when new. So the other pot is bubling on the kitchen sink! I have always found it such a chore, scrubbing at the stain with soda and a brush. This was so easy!
Why doesnt it work on my washing like that?

Try a denture cleaner tablet

I use these for all kinds of things . they're really good for tea or coffee stians, or for vases that have "curly" bits that you can't get to.

...................... you just put hot water from the tap in the cup, vase or teapot, put in a tablet (half a tablet for a mug), let it bubble up, and then let stand for 12 to 24 hours.

Add some more hot water, and swish around with a brush or sponge.

Rinse well.

I find the make called Polydent better than Efferdent ..... but I don't know what brand names you have over there.

Must tell you this

we regularly stay at a certain motel, the restaurant section uses white pot teapots.

One morning my peppermint tea (I know I know!!) tasted vile

The owner happened to stop by our table just at that point, picked up the teapot, lifted the lid, smelled inside, and whisked it away

I got a new pot of tea ...... and the explanation that they put a mixture of vinegar and water in the teapots, then let them stand overnight.

The first job in the morning is supposed to be to empty them and rinse well.

Occasionally one didn't get rinsed well enough, and you got vinegar tasting tea!

We often use a vinegar water mix to put through a coffee percolator ..... and then at least one more perc'ing through with plain water.

That should also work with an aluminum teapot.

I still use a brown betty when I use a teapot at home ...... I have 2 different sizes in my cupboard.

Gave away the stainless steel one that we were given as a wedding present back in 1967 .... someone really wanted one, couldn't find one in the stores, and mine had been sitting unused for about 20 years!

We have the metal ones as the brown ones get broken too often! My pots cleaned beautifully and the tea tasted so much better this morning. The stuff I poured away made a big cleaned area on my sink as well, so now have to do the same to that!
