Hi, wanted to reach as many people as possible to pass on some information I was given today. Having been unwell for a while I have not been out too often by myself, fear of being taken bad I think. However, a neighbour told me that if you type ICE into your mobile phone and add the number of the person you want called if taken ill and unable to communicate or have an accident, then the emergency services who are aware of ICE would know who to call.. I would call this peace of mind and have already sorted out my mobile. I hope this info is useful.

Hi Sylvia
I have had this on my phone for a while, and recently it had an unexpected benefit.
I had just got on to a train when I realised I had lost my phone. I had my work mobile with me, so txt my daughter to let her know to use the work number over the weekend and to pass the number on to my son.
Within a very short time I received a call from my daughter to say my son had already received a call from someone at the station - my phone had been handed in and they rang my ICE1 number!!
Good idea for people to have this on their phones for emergency use.

I have had mine like that for a while and keep nagging my son to do it but not sure if he has.

However, don't put it against something like hubby or wife etc or anything that will give away that it's your home number as if your bag is stolen or lost, and unscrupulous people find your housekeys and address in the bag they will phone to see if you are home, if that makes sense. Then they come round and let themselves in and steal all your valuables knowing there is no one at home.

Adding to this topic, dunno if it makes sense or is a fake suggestion...
do NOT on your GPS, on your HOME button have it programmed with your actual "Outside your front door location/driveway" A GPS sat nav thief will know where you live......EXACTLY.

Liz, allegedly also

If you lose your handbag, phone and cards its possible for the finder to text hubby for the card PIN.....
