I'm with BT, have their home hub. That gives me two phone numbers which is great.

Their service is very good as far as I'm concerned. Occasionally I have had to reconfigure the router, but one free phone call and it gets done remotely following a few simple instructions.

Yes they are slightly more expensive than most others, but I've had this service for nearly three years and can't fault it.

From personal experiance I have found that the current service provider tends to " pull it's socks up " once the Mac code has been requested .

OH decided to change when Orange wanted to up the price by over £ 12 a month.....he choose to go with TalkTalk ( which I have since discovered is AOL , sort of ) ...... anyway , it took a rediculious amount of time to be " taken over " and finally over a week of being in limbo with no internet .

Everything is ok now but they ( TalkTalk) have ended up giving us three months line rental / internet for free as we where messed about so much .

I don't believe that changing provider is really as " easy peasy " as any of them claim .
I wish you all the luck in the world with a switch over McB . x

Amanda, changing provider always takes time, because BT still owns the phone lines, and only one broadband 'tag' is allowed on that line at any one time.

Your old provider will have to request their 'tag' is removed, and of course they take their time.

Your new one will then have to request that their 'tag' is added, which, if it's not BT, then BT will take their time LOL.

It's all red tape and beurocracy.

BTW, I wouldn't touch AOL with a bargepole.

Here's another satisfied BT customer, though I do find the accent at the call centre a bit difficult as they have to be told to speak slower and louder, but they are very helpful.

It was more complicated than that in our case Teresa ( our pc was still running on two yogurt pots and a long piece of string............lol ).

It took several months ( most of which we were still with Orange as the other lot hadn't processed the Mac code ) ....... strangely during that time Orange had not put the price up as they had said they where going to .

Still .......it's all worked out ok eventually ..... and the phone bill has dropped as well : )
