Hello peeps,
when will you be putting your tree up? We haven't decided yet, but we shall probably getting a new one this year as the one we have had for the last 15 years is just too big to go in the room with our other furniture.

Not yet lol ...It has always been a tradition here that my son and me go and choose and buy the tree. But he is at Uni and won't be home until about the 21st,so it will just be little ol' me on my todd.
I will probably get it about a week before Xmas. Then I will be in a bad mood trying to put the lights on LOL

Dear BrummieHelen and all

Hello

Usually, about 4 or 5 days before Christmas Eve.

And we put decorations on the doors and some paper chains
(old fashioned maybe but lovely to look at).

Best wishes
xx

My tree and all the other bits get put up between 10pm Christmas Eve and 1am Christmas Day. It's the last thing I do before going to bed.

I don't do it intentionally, but am usually so disorganised. I'm sure it would go up earlier if I had children.

alice,
I have 3 cats who seem to enjoy knocking the tree over too!
I use a fake tree, put lights on it (they seem fairly robust), but instead of having glass balls, I have corn dollies!
If the tree gets knocked over, I just put it back up and it seems none the worse for it's 'trip'! LOL

My tree will go up whenever my 7 year old grand daughter comes over for the weekend.
I personally wouldn't bother, but every year one or other omy daughters comes over and calls me an old misery guts - and puts it up!
Must have one - and the open fire lit this year, as eldest daughter and my 2 grandchildren will be over on Christmas day.

So far we have not had a problem with the cats... don't know how Jessie (Peggy, as was) will be... but don't think she will demolish it with three legs, lol...... and as with Maggie, I now have tree decs that bounce and not shatter, lolol!!

our family has always put up the tree christmas eve afternoon. It was agony when we were kids as everyone else had theirs up weeks before! We then always keep it up till twelfth night. Julia (in cambs)
