Dear All

Hello

Do you have a favourite Christmas food? Mince pies, pudding, cranberry sauce, etc.

Or ones that you don't like?!

Did food taste better years ago when home made?

Take care

Best wishes
xx

Mine is still all home made, except the pudding... and I adulterate that, heavily, lolol!!

We don't have Christmas cake, as no-one likes it.

My favourite...... Boxing day bubble and squeak!!

Love

It's not strictly Christmas food, but when I was a child that was mainly when we had roast potatoes and sprouts and I love both,

one mince pie is enough for me , just to say I've had one lol, same with pudding, just a very small amount...but lots of custard. :)

My brother used to do a lot of the Christmas cooking, and I remember the sausage rolls were always good, they don't taste the same now , but thats because I now have vegetarian ones .

Food always tasted better when I was little and my Mum made it. But I love turkey breast with loads of apple sauce and stuffing.

Dear All

Hello

Thank you very much for your replies.

I say you can't beat a good old fashioned roast!

I agree when you are little, most things are good.

Dear Mr Old Geezer, are the Jellied Eels served with mint or cranberry sauce?!

Take care all

Very best wishes
xx

nowa days noone here likes mince pies, so i buy sausage rolls (its easier)
xmas pud i didnt do last year, i made apple crumble, and icecream,
(didnt make the icecream)

my favourite food is trifle, i could eat a bowl full,
but generally only make it at xmas now

Not keen on pudding and mince pies but one year I managed to buy something called a black bun which was mostly pastry and currants. I think it is Scottish and it was lovely.

Have just made some Christmas puddings from a recipe in Julian Graves dating from 1713. Eight hours steaming tomorrow.
