Does anyone else watch 'The Family' on Channel 4? I have been following this since it started and love it! I think the way they have taken the daughter in law in and helped her through her problems with her Mum, is lovely and she is so close to them and treats them well. The house is chaotic, the father is chauvanistic but the love that shines through all of them for each other is a joy to see.
It's funny too, I keep wishing I could ask their neighbours what they are like to live next door to lol

I too love this programme, the love that shines out of this smashing family is wonderful.

If only all our families could be so close, there wouldn.t be so many feral teenagers cluttering up street corners.

Isn't Mum comical when she swears?

How I wish that my mum was like this lovely lady, instead of the selfish !"£$% that she is.

Nina, I love the Mum, nothing fazes her does it? The house is such a mess but no one seems to care, the walls are tatty and the tiny kitchen, how on earth they manage in there I can't imagine yet they are the friendliest kindest people.

I wonder what Shay's mother thinks when she watches it and sees how happy they all are, the poor girl had a rotten life by the sound of it and it is such a shame her mother hasn't been happy for her to find such good in laws.

That Bollywood actor son in law of theirs is a poser and I do worry about that little girl, she doesn't seem to get many people play with her properly or stretch her, just sits with everyone watching tv and hearing all the conversations bless her. Now another little one coming into the family, too.

And Tindy, oh dear if he doesn't get a subservient wife at some point and finds someone who wants more than the traditional housewife role, there will be fireworks, he is so spoiled and lazy, and indulged lol Apparently he was a tiny prem baby and now look at him!

Fabulous television.

Hi Sparks, I think that we are all guilty of spoiling our youngest. The trouble is,their older siblings also treat them like a baby.

I don't know how the Mum has piled on the weight, she panders to all the families wishes, how she manages to get up the stairs is beyond me,and I have my heart in my mouth, expecting her to trip over the dogs.

I wouldn't call her house messy, more lived in,a bit like mine. The biggest compliment anyone can pay me,is feeling enough at home to put their feet up.

I am the same with the way the house is, stuff everywhere but what I mean is, with all those people in there it's sort of expected but you think they would have tidied up a bit between them. It's all the stuff balanced on the banister that makes me laugh, mother goes past and it falls on the dog but she doesn't notice and the dog sort of looks up as if to say Oh no, not again lol

When my kids were small,I thought that they were more important than THINGS,didn't have money for posh anyway.

Now,they have all left home and I have bought nice furniture, the grandkids come and bugger it up,not to mention three ginger cats.

Only yesterday,I put a new, pretty bedset on,all pink and frilly(hubby sleeps elsewhere) next time I went upstairs, all three, very muddy cats were nestled comfortably on my bed. I can't bloody win!!!

I watch it, when I remember! The love in the home gives a feel good feeling.

Mum is super, so calm (most of the time) and so strong and loving.
I do worry though, that she over does it. She could do with a holiday awy from the chaos.

Great viewing, a different class from most other reality tv

I don't think the mother would leave them really. I wonder if they ever have a holiday away from the rest of the family?
Can you imagine when the new baby comes what it will be like?
I felt so sorry for Shay when her brother said he wouldn't come to the wedding cos her mother won't come, and her auntie seems scared of Shay's mother so might not have the party there beforehand. She sounds a bit like my son's stepmother, likes to control the whole family, boy is she forever trying to get my son to add her to his friends on facebook lol
Son either ignores her request or says no, I don't like to show what me and my friends get up to lol She will never get control over my son, she should realise that by now. He is stubborn like his Mum lol

I think The Family is well worth watching and a lot better than some of the British families shown on reality tv, there is more respect and a lot less bad swearing too.
The father was very attractive when young and still not bad if he lost a few pounds, you can see his son takes after him too. Tindy is more like his Mum to look at I think. I bet father used to get flirted with when he was younger, by the woman travelling on the coaches lol but you can see he and the wife love each other deeply even tho they spar a bit and he orders her about.
I would love to know what job Shay does, it says highpowered in the city or something. MY o.h. said he read somewhere the names shown aren't their real names and when father shouts out for a cup of tea, he calls her something different.
