Just listening to a professor on Radio 4 - on a programme about twins.
He reckons a belief in God is genetical - based on twins seperated at birth with totally different upbringings.
I personally would say if your parents are religious there's a very strong chance you would also be religious.
Bit strange if it's 'in the genes'.

However, if that IS the case, then it seems like I come from a long line of atheists - on both sides!

Interesting , but then again... how would one really know? if say I had a twin and I was brought up in a religious family and she in an aetheist one, we might both become religious or we might both become aethiest, or rebel against 'nurture' and swap lol.

I have the same religious 'attitude' as my mum, her father was Catholic, mother C of E , but think it is less to do with her genes and mine in the 'religious' sense...more in our emotional ( and perhaps intellectual?) make up, our beliefs based on what we see around us and what we cannot see but 'feel' ?
