Hi all ,can anyone help me im trying to locate a list of employers dateing back as far as 1900 to 1937 ,the carter department of the railway .i have been on a few sites but they have been of no help yours sue

Have you tried Crewe? Used to be a main train depot. Dad worked in one in Ashford, Kent in the fifties.

The GWR staff records themselves are held in the National Archives, Kew.

, im trying to find info on my great uncle he started as a carter boy and worked at Temple Meads Station transport for many years, and passed away 2 days after retiring,I have tried many sites even the Bristol evening post ,All without any info ,so thank you all is shall look at these place`s you have all been kind enough to tell me about also to Dizzi who offered to lend me books
