If she has been given piriton, the itching should stop or ease a great deal within an hour or so, the aqueous cream helps rehydrate the skin.... if it dries out, it'll get even more itchy... it might take a couple of days for the rash to clear, but at the moment, she just needs to stop itching, bless her.

Hope she is feeling better soon.

Sorry, was plastering her in yet more cream. Its piriton syrup that they've given us. She was in and out of the doctors in about 30 seconds flat, so I hope theyve got it right. We're presuming it was the bubble bath (father in law feels guilty as hell, but he didnt realise. She's never had allergies before at all). Thankyou for your replies, does anyone know when it'll start clearing? I'll email BHS, have a gut feeling they wont be too bothered though but hey ho.

you could try calamine lotion .... after applying aqua cream......

Aww wee soul. Agree, keep her cool and natural clothes are best.

People don't realise that these fancy bubble baths tend to cause allergies, both in children and adults. It is a mistake anyone can make.
I would suggest taking it back to BHS, so they are aware of this incident.

Hope the medicine kicks in soon, and she feels better after it takes affect.

Bless her.
She will no doubt feel alot better once the medicine has an effect.

Try to keep her from getting too hot. Natural clothes next to her skin ie. cotton, would probably be more comfortable than man-made fabrics.

I hope she feels better soon.

Just keep using the aqua cream. It's only a moisturiser, but it will help prevent the rash from drying, which is what is causing most of the itching. The medicine should be an antihistamine, so that should kick in fairly quickly.

The only other thing I can suggest is to put her in something cotton, rather than any nylon or wool.

What medicine was she given from the Dr.If you have just got it it will take a little while to kick in.Maybe a tepid bath might help.I imagine you have been given an anti histamine for her.Poor little mite,is distracting her with things helpful??

my 3 yr old daughter had a bath at her grandads house on Sunday afternoon, a novelty bubble bath was used (from BHS, in a champagne bottle) and within an hour she was bright red all over and scratching like mad. Now shes even worse, we've just got back from the doctors and they said its an allergic reaction and gave her medicine and aqua cream. Is there anything else I can do to help her? The poor mite is scratching herself red raw, it looks like shes been burnt (red marks with white in the middle). Its all over her face too and she's off nursery. :-(
