So the outright winner is Keeping Mum

Two books tied second and, as I am sure many of us will not have time to read two books this time with Christmas I will say the same as last time. Please choose your second book from House of Spirits and the Sonnet Lover

Thanks Ann,

have made a note of the books and review date.

My local pound shop was selling "Keeping Mum" a month ago, might be worth checking again. I gave a copy to my sister, so will be asking for it back. lol

Will try to get House of Spirits from the Library, (it was third on my voting list).

My tv started working at about 10.25 this morning. I went out at 10.30.
Got back about half-an-hour ago, my gas heating has decieded thaat it is now warm enough to work! So it is HOT in my house, as night storage heaters were on too.

Happy Christmas everyone

I will have to check with the local library tomorrow or Monday whether or not the one library in this country I can find on-line that has Keeping Mum does an exchange with it.

In the meantime I'm going to start reading The Sonnet Lover as it is a book I own.

Abit of help needed please. I am not a member of Ann's Greaders group, but regularly look to see what books are being recommended to read. Out of this month's, I rather like the sound of 'Arthur and George' by Julian Barnes. I have had a look in Tesco's this morning, where I get most of my books from, but they do not seem to have it. Would some kind person tell me where I can get it from, other than the library.
Many,many thanks

I collected both books from the library today.
So can tell my sistwr that she can keep "Keeping Mum" it would have been a bit of a cheek to ask the the back (it was a present), before she had read it.
The other book I will be reading is "The House of the Spirits"

I was interested to see that it has been translated from Spanish, my copy was translated by Magda Bogin.
