I was Mary! I was Mary!

Only because I had a baby doll that they could use as Jesus - but maybe because I was destined for stardom and greatness - who knows? Stardom and greatness never happened mind you - but I was Mary!!!!

LOL

My daughter was Mary - aged four. They performed the nativity play at a nearby old people's home, after which Rachel was deputed to give a boquet of flowers to one of the residents.

Obviously entranced with the performance, the lady in question had gone to sleep.

Rachel - prodding same lady - said

"excuse me, are you dead?"

I wasn't Mary, but my daughter was when she was 9.

I couldn't go and see her because her baby sister had D&V.

The teacher was very annoyed with me for not going and said 'couldn't you have left her with a neighbour?!!!

With those nappies to change? I think not!

Love that story, Sue!

I was the Inn Keepers wife.

I think my line was "Who's that knocking at the door".

My chance for the Oscar got shot down when the play was stopped and I was asked to repeat my line because no one could hear me.

Funny thing is I have never been asked to speak louder since then. Those who know me will vouch for this. !

I was a shepherd one year along with my cousin and a friend who happened to be a farmers son ......we had to walk to the stage from outside down the aisle, which we did, complete with a sheep. After that I was an angel they couldn't face the livestock in chapel again.
Mind it raised a few smiles.

My friend was a teacher at an infants school in Birmingham and one year they decided that in their Naivity play they wouldn't worry too much about a set script, but let the little ones 'ad lib'.

On the day
.....Mary and Joseph were in the stable, ...baby in the manger.
One of the arriving visitors to Bethlehem greeted Mary......

( broad Brummy accents here)

" Hello Mary. How are you today?

" Oh, I'm alright, but the babby's been a little b..... all day!

Next year they had a script.

Gwyn..... a sometime angel.

I can never remember being in a natitivty play.

Eldest was Inn Keepers wife, Laddo was a Soldier then a Star.

Tiddler was a Shepherd, and last year was a Star Cleaner she looked like Hilda Ogden and they ran around the stage to the Benny Hill Music soo funny. This year (her last one) she is a musician

Best Christmas play have seen was at their old prinmary school and the older ones did their version of the 12 days of christmas. The maids a milking were boys dressed as girls with milk cartons, the calling birds had girlson mobile phones, the whole audience were in stitches
