for little folk,, like 2-3 year olds
ive browsed around asda, seen some but expensive for waht they are,
tried marksies, blimey charlie see the price of them,
went in tesco today, well none in there
except some frilly skirts, but tops were so dull,
one was lovely but it were black, adn black top, i didnt want black for little lady,
ended up getting netting skirt with linning, and matching pink tshirt top,
trouble is they got now waist ave they to hold um up lol

she loves it anyways , cos she can fluff it up, and spinny twirl

Have you tried Asda got aloverly one for my g,grandaughter mind you it was 6 to 9 mths.just thought it may help

I do not like most of the clothes which are made for little ones these days.
I used to make most of my children's clothes, but then it was a different age, but.... you then get exactly what you want.
Try it Julie Ann.... you will love doing it and become addicted.
I promise you.
However, if you don't want to, I hope ypu find a lovely, lovely little frock.

they got some gorgeous ones for that age group,
i was looking other day, when i popped out with my son,
but inoticed they were for birth to 18 months,

grandaughters petit, little thing but she just out grown 18-24 months clothes,
tho she will be 3 in march
love the little dresses,
she said today she gona were her party dress tomorrow, but mammy said it didnt fit her, so i rushed out to find something,
shes a proper girly

i do lots of knitting,
but hadnt thought of going back to my dress making hobby,
i loved sewing too,
will have to get my sewing machine sorted,

I knitted my little girl a drees when she was a baby.
It was in 2ply, pink, and took me THREE MONTHS!!
I was a quick knitter, but this was really special, and it was a beauty.
I hired a washing machine for the weekend... you could in the 50's.... and ruined it in the first wash!
She wore it ONCE!
I was heart broken!

oh no deanna, thats heart breaking after so much work,
i can appreciate that,

i made grandaughter one for 1st xmas, in red with white ribbon thru middle

she looked adorable in it but wore it once,

i cant knit in less than double knitt it take me forever,
i gave one to mam to finish wehn my own daughter was little,
i just couldnt finish it,
mam did in next ot no time,
it was a shortish jumper type dress with fluff round bottom, as trim,
it was lovely with thick tights, she loved it

Matalan had some gorgeous stuff in for little girls when I was in there a couple of weeks ago. Reasonably priced too.

I would love to have a little girl to buy for. I get so sick of khaki navy or beige for my little lad. Only now and then can I get anything in bright colours and that is mainly summer T shirts.

Oh well, one day I might get a little granddaughter then I can go mad spending on her.

morning guys,
thanks for all th e help with places to shop and stuff,
i went off here last night,
forgot to shut down puter too, lol
i was engrosed in a complicated pattern for a yolk, on a cardi, ivenot made one like it before,
did put it away few weeks back now, and made two garments for daughter for xmas and a baby cardi inbetween,
oh yeh and a little toy doggy , that my son was impressed with,
its for little lady tho
so i bin busy in my santas workshop lately

i gotta persevere with this yolk, cos i cant pass it on to mam to compleete anymore, (said with a smile)
anyways
i gona have peek at all places mentioned,

just had text off daughter,
little pixie got her outfit on and she been asking the two little boys (brothers) my daughter childminds, what they think,
aint that cute at that age, lmao

Hi ladies, can I recommend shopping for fabric in Quilting supply shops. They stock a huge range of lovely cotton fabrics,and you can buy as little as 1/4mtr to mix and match.

I love making pretty frocks for the granddaughters,and it dosn't cost the earth.

You can wash the pants off cotton and never ruin it.

do you find the patterns in same shops

Hi Julie Ann they don't usually stock sewing patterns,but I will pm you with the name of a mag I bought this week with a lovely,simple pattern in it.

Will go upstairs to rummage.

Julie Ann, Nina again, this morning there was a sewing magazine for sale in my newsagents with a free pattern for a little girls party frock. Also childrens jim jams,and a nightshirt for mum.

I suppose that we are not allowed to mention the name, but the pattern was attatched to the front page,and the name was in the word SEWing.

It is a tad expensive,but when you think what one sewing pattern costs it works out cheap. Also lots of ideas for folk new to home dressmaking ect.
