Dear All

Hello

Have you had your work 'do'?

Ever been to the pub/cinema/dinner with work colleagues to enjoy the festive season?

Was it great or a disaster spending time with your colleagues outside of the workplace?

Best wishes
xx

I've had a few!
One manager - a Christmas 'do' out was us buying ourselves ONE drink.
Another I had to endure spending £30 to be in close proximity to my line manager - who was a 'covert' bully.

This year, I'm looking forward to it. In work time (2pm).
New line manager, Secret Santa, proper meal and we can go home afterwards - whenever we finish - and I live nearest!! LOL
Only problem is, only two of us can drink 'properly' and we have to be at work the next day.

Posh restaurant too.

*edit* - never had an embarassing event in the photocopying room - have I missed out?

From 1982 to 2000 working for the RAF with MOD we had a Christmas do every year, service and civvies mixed and they were always great fun.

When I worked at RAF Henlow we had cleaners employed by MOD and dedicated to our work places and they were always invited to the Christmas do. Innsworth we never saw the cleaners so they were not invited. Every year, different bosses, we always had wine on the table bought by the boss and a drink before bought by either the boss or the second in charge (Usually military officers).

I've always been self employed Elizabeth and so Christmas events have never been on the cards for me. This year however I have been invited to my OH's Christmas Dinner. This is going to take place in a very posh restaurant in London - no expense spared. I'm going to have to be on my very best behaviour :)

S.A.G.A. based in Folkestone were well known for their great Christmas staff 'events'....Free
OH went to South of France with them one year. The whole company went. Some on Friday/ Saturday/ Sunday and some on Saturday/ Sunday/ Monday so that jobs were still manned.Another time they took over Euro Disney for a couple of days and didn't have to pay anything.
Previously they had flown staff to Boston, USA where they also had another base.
Those days have gone and I saw in the local paper recently that managers this year are being allowed £25 a head for each member of staff's Christmas event.
