Just been into the city centre and it's heaving!

Cards and wrapping paper half price in Bhs, Borders closing so all books etc half price and many more reductions elsewhere.

I couldn't get everything I wanted but managed some of it so now to eat and rest till o.h. gets home.

He is cycling and just had the gritting lorry speed past me on a narrow street slinging grit all over the bonnet, better warn him to take care riding home at 10.30pm

Take care all
love

I buy books from The book people, they are very cheap and hardbacks are good quality. It looks good if you are buying for presents as the original price is on them, not the discount.

Nephew works at Borders, ...so uncertain times for him just before Christmas :-(
They have some prime sites in many towns, so I wonder what will replace them....

Well done those of you who have found some bargains. There are some great buys out there.

I get many of my books from the book people too.

At first I was worried that there was a catch, but there isn't.

Or perhaps the catch is, i want to by LOADS of books from each issue of their catalogue as the price makes it so tempting.

I only went and looked for one book, which was sold out, I daren't look any further as I would have spent a fortune, I love books but there are some good bargains. I asked an assistant who helped me try to find the book I wanted and she said they have all lost their jobs!
It must have been very hard for them, just before Christmas especially.
