Liz
no dont pay for the locks and the last time we had trouble aked council for a stronger lock and they did it and the council guys even serviced the garage door as was stiff.

Rang council thi morning and they have put on their list to fix again, but each time it cost £800 to them if they have to replace door we have asked for gate across the entrance surely cost of them would soon be saved with all the trouble we have had think will be asking Jerry from council about them again at next community forum meeting.

Joy the meaning to that is because they, and possibly their parents don't know the meaning of the word. Too many kids have no idea of working to earn a living, they expect the state to keep them for the rest of their lives ---- And it will unfortunately!!!!

Hi Dawnie,

I too rent a council owned garage and they charge lots but only have the basic lock near the handle, if you want any tighter security you have to pay for it yourself. The garage has been broken into several times over the years, my son's bike was stolen twice, from it, once found dumped up the street, and lots of other things from the garage have been strewn over the nearby park. Stupid mindless idiots who don't realise how annoying it is for people who rent the garages. I had an idea who it was did mine one time but couldn't prove it, the old lady friend of mine who lives in a flat above the row of garages said she thought she heard noise underneath but didn't call the police! Wish she had so the little brats got nicked!
Glad you didn't lose anything except the lock, did you have to supply it?

Btw, thanks for Christmas card, will get round to doing mine this week lol, always behind, me!

we dont have garage with house so rent one off council round corner right by our allotment and in a block of about 16.

Hubby went to allotment with tiddler this afternoon and everything was ok just been back up with dog for a walk and 4 have been broken into, ours they have cut the thick padlock off and tried to jemmy the door but didnt manage to get it open. 2 others they have and doors are up and open so can see the car the lot. Council not open to try and get them to repair it now but have reported to police but now worry they will come back and try again before can get council out to fix them.

Why do they think its ok to invade other peoples property little **********
