I've just noticed that Ancestry have now fully transcribed the rest of the death index. And release a new Death Index for 1916 to 2005.

How long has that been there? lol

Can i ask - is that just names and dates that are transcribed?

i assume no death details available without a cert still (sorry, my tree has been sadly lacking in attention for a year or so lol)

Yes for full details would need you to purchase the cert.

The transcriptions gives the usual Name, year of death, District, County, Vol & Pg Nos.

But there are changes to how much other info there is to viewed for the years 1915 to 2005;

For deaths from 1916 to 1968
Name
Age at death (est)
Death Reg ...(Year only)
You'll need to view the original image, to see which quarter the death was registered in.

For deaths from 1969 to 1982
Name
Date of birth
Death Reg ...(Year only)
You'll need to view the original image, to see which quarter the death was registered in.

For death regs for 1983 to 2005
Name
Date of birth
Death Reg....(month & year)
Age at death (est)

There are no original images that can be viewed for 1983 to 2005

If you go to the home page and click on...........

Recent Databases............it lists the new additions & updates almost daily.

The death update was 30th Nov.
