On a really clear day you can see for miles from the top, and we were up at Evesham Country park and realised that we could see Cleeve Hill from there.

I was 6 months pregnant, we were both full of flu, and we sat in the garden at midnight with a glass of coke each listening to the church bells and the ships sirens bringing in the new millenium.

I was breastfeeding my newborn (first) at exactly midnight. It's a new year I will never forget.

I was working....... I did a sleepover, but had a hectic night with a very distressed client... It was very strange, and I think all her emotions were strung taut... she was convinced it was going to be the end of the world, bless her.

Ann.... I probably passed you wandering around Cleeve Hill, lol!! We went there to blow away the cobwebs, too!

Love

we saw it in at a friends house
with our kids who were about 13 and 8 then, how strange that seems looking back
our daughter who was 13 was quiet reflective of her nan and wondered what she would of thought of it,
i remember her stood in the street at midnight with us all, and she was crying,
wen we got photos developed of us all together that night in the street, our daughter and son were surrounded by loads of orb type images and stood next to us, we had lost mum in 93

We were in a nightclub in Torquay with a friend and her partner. It was a weird New Year for me - I normally love it but my grandmother had died at the beginning of the month, so although I managed to enjoy myself, I was a wee bit maudin inside:) I think I was generally glad to see the back of the C20th but sad to be leaving some people and memories behind me.

We saw in New Year 1999 with our daughter and her husband and our three Grandsons. On New Years Day 2000 it was a crisp frosty morning and we went for a walk together on Cleeve Hill from where we could hear the church bells ringing at mid-day. I was looking forward to 2000, it was the year I retired at 60 and we celebrated our Ruby wedding anniversary (all in August).

Dear All

Hello

This time, around 10 years ago, there was anticipation at the prospect of the beginning of a new millenium around the world.

Weeks before, there were stories that computers would not work, food would run out, not enough frontline staff to cover essential services, the London Dome had not been finished.....

What are your memories of this time period?

How did you feel seeing in a new century?

Take care all

Best wishes
xx
