Saw my nephew last week and emailed him my son's address as he asked for it, usually his mother sends cards via me here.

Today I got a card from said nephew, addressed 'Aunt Liz' (no surname) and the address lol He has taken a leaf out of his mother's book and started printing or having printed, his Christmas cards. The one he sent had a pic of his two spaniels wearing Christmassy hats and inside was printed, Love from and his and his fiancee's name and the names of the dogs as if they are children lol He doesn't have many friends so not as if he wouldn't have time to write the cards.

My youngest brother did the same as last year, sent a card addressed to me but to my son's address, inside card is written to me, partner and son and message says, pass on my good wishes to G (my son) As I had told him he could open the envelope altho addressed to me in name, he said, consider message passed on! Are my lot loopy or what? I am capable of sending cards to the right addresses, why are they so stupid?
My son has had his own flat for about 8 or 9 years, and I have given them the address several times, and they know my house address and this one so why the problem? It's not down to finances, he is a partner in an accountants and told me last year that he is earning more than any other partner in the company and more than his wildest dreams. Yet he can only manage one card instead of two (even if he had popped a small one in the envelope for one of us and the other had the main card) and my son hasn't had a gift for about ten years! He only has three nephews and no kids of his own, lives in a big old rectory and acres of land etc. He was happy to take money from our aunts and uncles when we were younger and he needed a briefcase and money towards a car etc etc when he started work, and my parents couldn't do it as very hard up. The other bro had help towards his chef training which he later gave up on. They have short memories!

I am so glad I can choose my friends, my family aren't the sort I would bother with only I was stuck with them and as big sis, I was the muggins who looked after them and taught them to read and write etc while Mum was too wrapped up in housework and cooking for us. Makes my blood boil!

Liz, you know you can choose your friends and not your relations. It rings true every time, just when you think you're swimming along nicely, up comes a Shark and bites you on the b*m !!lol
Sue
Have a happy Christmasxx

My OH does the cards but last year we set up the labels on the computer to save having to address all the envelopes by hand.

This year she was saying naughty words because the addresses were not lining up on the labels so she had hand-written about four fifths of the addresses.

She blamed it on the fact that I had changed the printer.

But was not too amused when I pointed out that if you have sixteen labels on a page on the computer, you need to load the printer with sixteen to the sheet labels, not fourteen !

Not sure whether I'll get any Christmas dinner?
