Merlins progress to date. Everything is super. Melin took the op fine and has never even tried to rub his non existent eye. The biggest problem is eating, he just wants more and more food and his appetite was very good before the op. Today as usual I took them for a walk and finished up at school where I always feed the birds with the sarnies left over from school dinners. They have ham, cheese, tuna etc very well fed they are. Now while I am doing this the dogs are in the playground with me. Today Melin blotted his copy book. I heard a sound and looked to where it came from, just in time to hear a male member of staff say " he's going to be very sick". Merlin had found a box on the floor, put out by the teacher to keep the chocolate fudge cool he had brought for the children in his class. I assured him that Merlin has an iron stomach and appologised proffusely. I took the dogs home and dashed to the shop where I purchased all the chocolate fudge bars they had, then back to school to deliver them before break time. He has been fine no problems but I can't seem to fill him, he follows me to the fridge, the cellar, the cupboards dancing around exitedly begging. He wasn't like this before the op so why does having your eye removed give you an extrodinary appetite? Elaine. |

Chocolate is very bad for dogs. It can actually poison them. Merlin is probably lucky he chucked up. May I suggest you phone your vet and let him know, just in case. And I know some dogs are fed chocolates however, pet owners are warned about feeding it to them. |

A friend of mine has a cat who had to have some teeth out, since when she's gained a new (mad) lease of life. |

Glad he is coping so well, Elaine, and hope the fudge won't have caused him too many nasty problems, naughty lad! |
