I make green tomato mincemeat but this year,because we had enough in store, I didn't make any.
Yesterday we were going to do a big batch of mince pies. All the pastry was made, so much of it.
That big,big jar of mincemeat in the cupboard was.............chutney!!!!!!!!!

Awe Sharron, what a blow. During the holidays, I will be making my mincemeat for next year. I like it to infuse plenty, and keeping it in the fridge, every few months I turn the jars over.

There was some leftover tomato jam so we warmed it up with a slug of brandy,some butter,marmalade and mixed fruit.

Tastes alright.

The green tomato mincemeat has next to no fat in it, about half an ounce of butter in seven pounds and it is delicious on toast too.That is why I make a lot of it,but perhaps not as much as I thought!!!
