It seems strange that, having established that there is a design fault, it was not possible to quickly bring in a different design or diesel trains to keep the service going whilst the problem was investigated.

The theory seems to be that snow got under the trains where it was bad in Northern France then when they entered the tunnel the temperature went up and the snow melted and got into the electrics. I believe they are supposed to be getting people moving today withe extra trains, ferrying those back that have been stranded before they take anyone else. let's hope they are all home in time for Christmas where they want to be.

I heard on the news that the bosses of Eurostar are blaming the snow saying it is the wrong type to soft a flake. What rubbish. The board should be sacked.

That was a stroke of luck for your son Ann.
I feel so very sorry for all those people who are stranded in that dreadful weather.
Those with children must be in such a state.
Not everyone can book into an hotel can they.
I hope they all get home for Christmas, if only for a a bit of heat and a soft seat.
Bless them all.

I am so pleased that the eurostar failed when it did. My son and his family were due to go to Paris on Saturday AM by Eurostar to go to Disney Paris for 2 days, a special treat for the children. Luckily he checked on line before leaving at 7am in the taxi and held off going, eventually deciding not to go to London. If it had happened a day later he would now be stranded with two children in Paris. I feel so sorry for all the people stranded in both London and Paris. But I was bemused to note that one young visitor from Brazil was blaming the British for it happening saying we should be used to cold weather. I hope somebody explains that the problem is the French end.
