I stopped on the way in and rummaged in my bag for my purse. He said "Thank you madam" (before I'd given him any money). I tipped all my loose change into his bucket (which was a relief as it was weighing me down) and said "I'm quite happy to make a contribution so long as you grant my wish". "And what's that Madam?" "Staff" I said.

He did ask whether I wanted staff who were never off sick, never in late and never went on holiday. I said that of course I did.

But he never made any promises.

Do you think he will deliver?
