Well Mel, the above does normally have a lengthy shelf life, so I think you're talking cobblers if you think it has to be eaten within the next few days or it will be wasted.

I just think you're being unkind regarding that poor woman, really I do. and thats not very Christian is it ?
...and all the poor woman did was have a few bantering words with you at the checkout......what a shame.

We normally do our weekly main shop on a Thursday (hubby's job permitting)
We shopped tonight and out bill came to around £190 - that included everyday things such as washing tablets, coffee & teabags. Milk bread cheese, cereal etc. Meals to cover the rest of the week. Then we bought meat for Xmas and boxing day, sweets, crisps & choccies, bottle of wine for Xmas lunch, Xmas pudding, various small cakes , sausage rolls, pork pies etc for Xmas & boxing day tea, Nice biscuits, coke, few cans of bitter for hubby & my dad, salad stuff etc.

Tomorrow we want to go to our Sainsbury's to get a few other bits we cant get in Tescos

Nothing will go to waste, and all wont be eaten in 2 days. Sweets & crisps & the like will last for most of the week if not longer. Why shouldn't we treat ourselves if we worked hard to pay for it ?

Why should I live on bread and dripping because other people are starving ?
it wont change the world and if i want to be picky I could say why don't you save your next tenner you waste on a gr subscription & send it to a charity for the starving to buy grain for a month instead

Mel - what makes you think that a trolley full of food will be wasted. I had a trolley full yesterday and I can assure you nothing will go to waste. I have a large gathering all day Christmas Day - perhaps this lady will too.
