Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 25 Dec 2009 03:50

I called at my house yesterday to pick up all my mail, thirty more cards waiting for me from friends and relatives all over the world.

I was sad to see that Girl, my friend's cat who used to write the Christmas catchup letter every year, went over Rainbow Bridge after writing last year's letter. (Their newish cat Torpedo (black, thin and speedy) is now the new reporter on the family. I am sure he will do a grand job once he gets into the swing of things and will dish the dirt on all of them. Girl was 21 when she passed over the Bridge so had a long and busy life, travelling whereever the family went, they now live in Texas but have lived all over America.

Bye Girl, thanks for all the tales you used to tell, try and guide Torpedo to do as well with the stories of the family.

Not now,.... but many years ago I had friends in the West Midlands, near where I was living and working. They had never met my parents living near the south coast, but their cat used to 'write' to my parents telling them of special days out and my visits to them.
Dad loved writing letters, so would write back ( from their cat) telling them of all the 'help' the cat gave with gardening, keeping feet and laps warm etc.
Eventually they all met when I married, but continued the writing until Dad died.

No cards or letters from pets, but our dog did get a card of his own, from some kind friends who walk him and take him in while we go on holiday!!
