Apparently there is a lot of controversy about what it will be called. I think twenty ten trips off the tongue more easily myself.

One thing that amazes me is that I remember the beginning of 1970 and that is forty years ago!

I'll call it two thousand and ten...on Mondays, when I'm in a primary school. Some of them have enough trouble understanding the value of the different numbers without them thinking that 2000 can also be 20.

Other days I'll probably refer to the year as twenty-ten.

So what have you been calling this year? 20 oh 9, 2 thousand and 9, 2 double 0 9?

I have been calling it 2 thousand and 9 so to be logical I should call next year 2 thousand and 10, but I hope it is a lot better than this year has been.

Question: will the year come to you if you call it?
