I'm watching 'Dead Reckoning' and am wondering why Humphrey Bogart was seen as so good lol He isn't good looking (imho) an his acting ain't that great! Am I missing something? Has he passed into legend simply cos he was around at the golden age of cinema??

The film was mostly shot in Africa though Mac,probably too dangerous to shoot falls scenes for real....Still a very good and well made film,Ann, seen it many times and, like you? could always watch it again!

Watch this space BC ;O) X

How tastes differ! Bob used to make me go weak at the knees, although he wasnt handsome. Anyone remember that skinny young feller, Francis albert Sinatra. They used to say he looked like a coat hanger in a suit!

is there anywhere you weren't Mac!!! I don't think Bogey and Katherine Hepburn were waving to you at all - I reckon they were gesturing to you to clear off!!!!!

Lol Ann
Thank you all so much for your replies and what a great anecdote, Mac! I must admit I do love "The African Queen' but I have never seen Humphrey's eyes smouldering, BC (mwah) - just popping occasionally.

Angie lol I have never heard of anyone having a 'thing' for John Wayne before!! Tho' I have watched most of his films thanks to my dad.

I did like Rock Hudson now he was hadsome tho not the greatest actor and Burt Lancaster, Gregory Peck, Cary Grant & Frankie.
I'm not a big fan of Robert mitchum he always looked like he was ready to snooze off - took the saying 'having 'come to bed eyes' far to literally.
I never saw the fascination with Clark Gable either.

Thanks again folks xx
