Hi Margaret,

If you google Skype, it will tell you all about it, how to download, etc and set it up. It is relatively straightforward.

I use it a lot ... free, not much is these days.

Can be used to type replys to others on it ... or with microphone & web cam, a good way of chatting with people who you cannot get to chat to in the same room.

My brother lives in USA ... first time I saw him on skype I burst into tears

I use it weekly to speak and see my son and family who live/work in Qatar

There is no cost involved when using PC to PC you have to download/register with Sykpe, which is easy to do.

Personally i think it is great, without it we would not see our three Grandchildren, albeit by the webcam, better than not seeing them until we visit them once a year.

Thank you for your answers I would like it to speak to an elderly cousin in Australia, although I had heard of it he has been asking me about it'

So we would both have to download it and get a webcam'
Thankyou Margaret

Skype is really good.
I was in contact with my daughter and family in Cork over the weekend. and also my brother in Buckinghamshire.
My daughter and me now play scrabble
via webcam and facebook.
Jolly good fun.
