This is going to turn into an interesting debate. To me, the potatoes cooked by Budgie's method are called saute potatoes. Raw potatoes, on the other hand,sliced not too thick, and dipped in batter then fried, as they do in some chip shops around here, are called fritters or scollops. Raw potatoes, again not cut too thick, and fried, WITHOUT the batter, are called flat chips |
